My Pap actually shed very little, much like normal human hair does. There was one exception though - when she was stressed, such as a vet visit, it was like a switch was turned on and her body dumped much more hair all at once. But overall, she was a light shedder. Great breed. Much less shedding than others I’ve had, such as American Cockers. read more

Two times per year, the Papillon will enter a shedding cycle, however the degree to which this happens is contingent upon several elements. This is sometimes referred to as ‘blowing the coat’. This does happen even though this breed does not have an undercoat (inner layer of dense fur). read more
