Why do people clear their tables at fast food joints?

I think we basically like to treat others as we wish to be treated. Clearly, there are no bussers at a fast food joint, so it is up to us. Fast food joints are trying to keep their prices as low as possible so they can serve the masses affordably. This requires utilizing a business model where minimal service is the norm. I, for one, appreciate sitting down at a table which doesn't have someone else's trash on it. read more

I am from the US and it is customary for the customer to clear their own table at a fast food restaurant (McDonalds,Wendys,Burger King and so on) If you go to a set down or a buffet style restaurant the waiter or waitress clears the table for a tip (usually 10%-15% of bill). read more
