I doubt there's anyone there who actually likes Oliver Twist. Having read it when I was about the same age with Oliver Twist I can testify I did not like it. Not one bit and I wouldn't like it now either. read more
Well, first and foremost because it’s Dickens. Second, because it is one of the earliest known books to take on social issues such as poverty and 19th century industrialization. It’s also one he earliest books to use satire as a vehicle for social commentary. For all of these reasons, Oliver Twist is a classic. read more
