Staffies (pitbulls) are very strong. They are also very loyal and trainable. Sadly, they often find themselves in the hands of owners who want to use them for protection, for exactly those reasons. There they receive little or no dog-to-dog or dog-to-person socialization. They become afraid of people and dogs, which presents as aggression. read more
Unfortunately, people soon found ways to exploit pit bulls’ behaviors and tendencies for dog fights and their strong appearance became a symbol of violence, drug culture, and gangs.
