Hindu temples are generally place of worship only, where temple priests are usually part-time, little-paid or honorary upkeepers, who has to look after the daily cleaning, washing of the premises, decoration of the idols, morning and evening prayers, pooja, aarati, prasad etc., besides assisting devotees and visitors and it hardly serves any other purpose like imparting religious education and training or having religious discourse or political, social debates on a regular basis. read more
