No I don't think school uniforms encourage discipline. But rather they ask for rebellion instead. Forcing kids into uniforms they really don't want to wear, just creates animosity between them, the school and the teachers. It creates an environment where if they can find any way to revolt or cause trouble they will do so. read more
But I like my uniform. It's all about dressing for success. When my classmates are wearing uniforms we are focused, have good conversations, and get a lot done in class. On tag days, days that you can pay a dollar to wear regular clothes, my classmates are unruly. It's like giving a batch of 4 year olds sugar. read more
With uniforms, comes with a lot of rules and the whole do this and do that. So, if you think about it in the student’s perspective, if you want us (the students) to wear the uniforms, then why not let the student council design the uniforms, and bring it forth to the student body and have a vote. read more
