Prices for rent or housing are very high. I'm not sure where all the people are coming from, but apparently many people are moving here which is creating a horrible inflation driven real estate market. Most houses are being sold at extremely overvalued prices for what they actually are. read more

I think a major issue is the weather. For a guy like me, who grew up on the Oregon coast, I found Portland weather uncomfortable. It was hard to get through months worth of sunshine without enough rain. And the extreme hot and cold of the summers and winters, especially when they were often so dry. read more

Some people dislike Portland because they discover it isn’t the town they want it to be. Many people move to Portland attracted by what they heard about the city, but what they find is that it really is a small city that just happens to have a bit more culture than most cities its size. Then they start loudly complaining about historical issues. read more
