The same things happen when children are taught black history in school. When students learn that African Americans have contributed positively to society, education, science, art, law and medicine, it gives them an appreciation for African Americans currently living in the United States. read more

As the present generation (X, Y, Next Gen) seems to drift farther and farther from the historical accomplishments of the Civil Rights era, our consciousness as Black people, on a whole seems to have diminished with regard to facts about our history. read more
