If you say my experience is that it is the cold, that is strictly anecdotal. You are speculating. My chickens are on a feed mix that is commercially mixed that has sufficient protein, the temperatures in the coop are above freezing, eggs are less than a week old, and yolks break easily no matter how they are handled. read more
