it is very doubtful that the airs that were recently released with lion preinstalled will support snow leopard. apple products typically do not support versions (or even builds of the same version) ... i don't understand why they do this - it's a .0 release and many applications will have issues working with lion! read more

The reason is technical actually. Because the computer was made after Lion was available and that's what was preinstalled on it, there is no support for that computer in the Snow Leopard operating system. Certain hardware parts may not work and the install could be broken all together. read more

For everything that does not exist yet in Snow Leopard to stay in sync with the latest iOS there are other ways than iCloud. I could use a second partition or small external drive with the latest OS X if I ever might need it in any Emergency Case that relies on a working iTunes. read more
