The csu has ruled Bavaria on its own since 1966, except between 2008–2013 when it had to form a coalition. Other state governments have had to create multiple unstable coalitions. But the September election revealed a vulnerability in the csu ’s majority in Bavaria. The csu stronghold is under threat, and it desperately needs a savior. read more
