I just got a new game recently... Which I hardly ... freaking game. It makes me not buy any games and I become very limited on the games I do happen to buy, which is like NONE. ... all games. Think about it it's even older games that 360 didn't require installing, but you have to install old games on Xbox one. read more
It was a conscious choice on Microsoft's part to require installation rather than to run from disc -- and from a technology standpoint, it makes sense. It removes the slowest component of the system from the equation - the disc drive. read more
The Xbox One requires you to install a game before you can start playing it. Even if the game is a optical disk based one, you will have to install it on the Hard drive of the console before launching it, however, the Xbox One has had a very weird problem of slow installation from the first day of its launch. read more
