When there are significantly larger markets that might host an NFL team, including Toronto, San Antonio, Raleigh/Durham, or even London or Mexico City, Alabama does not seem like an appealing option, especially when parts of the state are already relatively close to other NFL teams. read more

The most important reason by far, is population density. There are no major metro areas in Alabama and really not that many people in general. It's the same reason Kentucky doesn't have an NBA team or North Dakota doesn't have a NHL team. You need lots of people within driving distance of the stadium to support a professional team. read more

I mean, Alabama doesn’t NEED an NFL team, because you have the two biggest powerhouses, Alabama and Auburn. My father is an Auburn graduate, and he celebrated when Auburn won the title in 2010. read more
