Why doesn't Hogwarts have logic and/or sex education classes?

The only time that JK Rowling showed some kind of proof to preventing premarital sex in Hogwarts was when Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were stopped ... And well Rowling was of course aiming at a children's book so this topic wouldn't have been raised much and would probably have been shot down by publishers. read more

Not sure about in Britain, but most American students I know didn't have a logic class until college. Working through proofs in geometry or being on the debate team are about the closest thing they get. Also, there are many schools in the U.S. that have very poor sex education classes. read more

You really cannot fully prevent underage post pubescent kids from engaging in sex. They usually can find a way if necessary. Hogwarts did have many out of the way spots available for a “quickie.” Hogwarts may have made a formidable effort, but when young people want to have sex, they usually find a way. read more

We do know of quite a few classes Hogwarts does offer, and these courses do cover a lot of what we would call a well-rounded education. read more
