Prime Minister Tony Blair actually commissioned a proposal for the UK to have two government aeroplanes, one for the Queen and one for the Prime Minister. The plans were dropped by his successor Gordon Brown because the country went into an economic crisis, and it would have been to unpopular expense. read more
