You may feel that many American children don’t respect their parents because of how you interpret their interpersonal behavior. They can be seen being argumentative or dismissive and sometimes outright rude to each other. read more

Respect for parents in a black household means doing what you are told when you are told to do it, a healthy awareness that kids are subordinate to the parents so long as they live under their parent's roof, that the parents make all the final decision in the home, and no backtalk or rude behavior is permitted. read more
