Some orders of monks do have beards. The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal have beards. I know a number of Benedictine monks from St. Meinrand Archabbey. Some have beards and some don’t. Some popes had beards and some didn’t. There’s no law about beards in the Catholic Church. read more
