Why don't we eat dogs and cats?

"we" do... I'm living in Shenzhen, China now, and even though it's much less common than it was 15 years ago, you can still find it if you really want to. I have not tried it, but I know many people here who have-They all say "eh.. it's ok I guess" ...basically they just don't want to talk about it. read more

Because we keep them as domestic animals (pets) and don't see them as animals to eat for food. In South Korea, China and Vietnam - cultures that traditionally eat dogs - as people become richer they are starting to prefer keeping them as pets rather than treating them as delicacies. read more

Just like dogs, cats, and humans, each chicken is an individual. For the same reason most of us wouldn't think of eating a dog or a cat -- because they are individuals -- we should also not eat chickens, pigs, or any animals. read more
