Dropping our waste into the Sun, Venus, or a Volcano would eliminate our ability to recover these materials in the future. If you are going to permanently destroy something you have to be very very sure you’ll never need it again. We can’t say that about our nuclear waste. read more

It needs a $375 million, 733,000 kg (1,616,000 lb) launch vehicle to get it out of Earth and into the right position at Venus to get within 6,000,000 km (3,700,000 mi) of the Sun — let alone whatever extreme requirements would be needed to fall into it. read more

Please, if you have a rocket capable launching from the ground and escaping low earth orbit and large amount of radioactive waste to discard, don't do it. Call up your local division of the Department of Energy or Environmental Protection Agency and they'll get you in touch with appropriate waste disposal agents. read more
