Since a lunar cycle of phases is 29 days, there MUST be at least one lunar and one solar eclipse during each season. So the minimum number of eclipses in a year is four, two lunar and two solar. It is possible to catch the very start or end of an eclipse season in January or December, and have an eclipse. read more
