Why is Aquaman so underrated?

I guess the reason that Aquaman is underrated on D C Comics and the Justice League roster is that he is would what you call a bullpen pitcher specialist which means his body of work is under water which makes it hard for writers to have his adventures battling the villains in an undersea arena compared to Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman who are the faces of the Justice League team. read more

On the other hand, several jokes were also made about Aquaman in the Super Friends series and there are several Youtube videos dedicated to trashing Aquaman. Since comics aren't cheap and people are too lazy to do some actual research, they look at these videos and draw their own conclusions that Aquaman is completely useless. read more
