California. Is NOT called Orange County. Orange County is a political area within California. Orange County is located south of Los Angeles County and North of San Diego County. Orange County is named because of the large number of Orange tree orchards that existed within it. Most of those orchards are now gone; replaced with suburban sprawl. read more
