Catholicism isn't hated, therefore the"so much" yardstick doesn't apply. In your question, there does seem to me to be some misunderstanding as to what the Catholic Church is; it's the Church founded by Christ. The Universal Church. You might want to look up the definition of the word"catholic" so you understand exactly what the word means. read more
EDIT: One more reason that many people hate the Catholic Church is that their hatred justifies - in their own minds, their severe lack of education about Catholicism. We are hated for idol worshiping, but we don't worship idols or pray to statues. We are hated for worshiping Mary, but we don't worship Mary. read more
Jesus did say that anyone hates you then know that they hated Him (Jesus) first. As a Catholic, I am faced frequently by those of other faiths who are appalled by and hate the Catholic teaching of Jesus. I am uncertain why. If one were to read the Niceen Creed and agree with it then why hate the Catholic Church. read more
