I don’t think anyone’s ever considered England a “Scandinavian” country. The idea of Scandinavia didn’t exist until very recently. The notion of the “Norsemen” as a nation certainly did in the Middle Ages, but not in the Migration Period and even in the Middle Ages England was viewed to be very different from the Norse. read more

I hear it all the time, but Denmark is not part of the Scandinavian peninsula and it is clearly part of Scandinavia. Denmark used to be part of the Scandinavian peninsula. The word predates Denmark losing its Scandinavian provinces. read more
