It's not. Hurling is massive in Ireland, it trumps religion in some places, like Kilkenny or Tipperary, and the All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final is a phenomenon in itself. It's almost a national holiday. However, I believe football is played by more people, the only good reason I can give is because football is easier. read more
