We did not eat meat on Fridays, even after the rules were relaxed following Vatican II. Now Meatless Fridays are observed only during Lent, with Good Friday being the most significant. Area restaurants promote this with fish specials, so I assume a lot of Cathlics still observe. Holy Week starts Palm Sunday and ends the following Saturday. read more
