Why is it disrespectful to not stand for the American flag?

Today a folded flag will be given to the family of those who DIED to protect our rights. Now that flag is the same one that people will kneel for. Some people will not give a shit, and yes it is the right of people to disrespect the flag, but they will not disrespect the flag without me exercising my free speech to call them a peice of shit. read more

Most people know the flag should never touch the ground, but few know that it has to be displayed vertically. Maybe it’s a nod to the lyric that had the flag “gallantly streaming” in the air. Whatever the case, an unfurled flag that sits flat is a disrespect to the Flag Code. read more
