The music industries lack of vision in embracing the internet back when Napster was going strong. ITunes finally came along, but by then piracy was going strong along with Kazaa, Bittorrent, pirate bay, etc... They are just figuring out that people are willing to pay if you make it simple and good. read more

So, it's difficult to venture into an anti-piracy agreement with a country you didn't know existed. The RIAA squashed Napster like a cockroach in the late '90s and early into 2000 before forcing the file-sharing platform to shutdown completely in June of 2001. read more
