I think the whole Nazi Eugenics thing is about ~90% of the reason why eugenics isn't practiced today. I'd like to think that we'd still be practicing it if Hitler went to art school. read more
Not all disabilities are genetic, of course. To the extent that certain transmisible diseases were eliminated via eugenc policies, like syphilis or T. Gondii, which can contribute to mental illness, that might help improve the general health of the population, but eugenics is not a good way to do that. Public health measures are far more effective. read more
