In some cases a dog will eat something that tastes like food like wrappers with food stuck to them, or trash. This isn't true pica. Just confusion. Causes are numerous: brain tumors, EXTREME nutritional deficiencies (starvation), obsessive compulsive behaviors for example. Stress eating has been noted as well (just like in people). read more
