You might ask your doctor if you can try a different synthetic brand or an animal extract-if your doctor won't work with you about this it's time to say-"Adios- hasta la vista-auf wiedersehen-Je presse au revoir- sayonara- get lost jerk-I'm bailing" If you have to do insurance or HMO paperwork- do it immediately and tell them that the doctor isn't treating your thyroid--At my HMO they had a long waiting list of people that wanted a different doctor-like 18 months wait. read more

TSH is a pituitary hormone and does not tell the entire story. You should also have a Free T3 and Free T4, each time you have a TSH test. read more
