In comparison to the very top schools (Stanford, etc.), it's not the most prestigious. But I would definitely say it's prestigious when compared to most universities. It's one of those that sits at the top of tier 2. NYU is an excellent school, comparable to URochester, USC, Tufts, Brandeis, etc. read more
