As moisture laden winds blow from the south from the Arabian sea, they create suitable conditions for oases (plural of oasis). And as the air moves further inland over the desert, it loses more and more of its moisture and hence lesser number of oases in the north. P.S. I might wrong. read more

This oasis is in an old lake bed. The Haratinen people (driven into the desert by the empires to the south) engineered it some thousand years ago by digging down in the lowest part and driving radial tunnels outward. read more
