As a member of a non-minority-interest fraternity, my fraternity was very militaristic in its hazing. Alot of it depends on the chapter, regional context, and history. Many fraternities began militaristic style hazing after young men came home from WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. read more
First, hazing acts are not confined to Fraternities. It sometimes happens in Sororities, on school and professional sports teams, in the military and even some workplaces. The question seems to imply that Fraternities are the only places hazing occurs and that they sanction it. Neither is true. read more
