Why is Shanghai larger than Beijing?

Shanghai weather is much less drastic than Beijing,max at coldest it reaches -4Celsius to Beijing's -15C. And this winter, 2014-15 has been the warmest experienced in China since 1995-96 in Wuhan. But the cold is more felt in Shanghai than Beijing, as the capitol is a dry climate. read more
