Why is the city population of Miami, FL so small?

The region of Miami to Palm Beach is a mega city with no real break from one political division to another. read more

It’s deceptive. The city of Miami itself is not very large, and is hemmed in on all sides by other municipalities. Much of Miami is also business district, which is not where people live. read more

For a couple of big reasons: * Tampa’s a pretty small city, landwise. You can easily get from one end of the city to the other in about an hour. It’s simply not that big. read more

Miami is broken into several areas: the North, South, West and Downtown. Downtown Miami, located on the eastern side, is the heart of the city and includes Brickell and the Port of Miami, which is known as the Cruise Capital of the World.
