Krakatoa destroyed 165 villages and towns, and 132 seriously damaged. Many thous0and people were injured by the eruption mostly from the tsunamis that followed. The eruption destroyed 2/3 of the islands of Krakatao. At least 36417 people died and the volcano is growing 5 metres per year. read more
