There's as much myth involved as there is fact. Mark VI definitely have a certain sound, but not all are the same. Far from it. The metal, bore, size of holes, etc all make a difference. So do the different serial numbers. A lot of serious Mark VI players are always on the look out for another similar series horn as a backup. read more

Selmer Paris saxophones are considered the best professional saxophones generally speaking but not all of the Mark VI’s are great. Like all saxes there are problems and lemons in the group. With Selmer Paris there are generally less lemons. read more
