There either aren't any stabilizers, or enough stabilizers, like monoglycerides or diglycerides in the Nutella, to stop or slow down separation. I think you'll find that is a layer of oil in the jar of Nutella. There is a lot of oil and sugar in Nutella. You'd be better off making your own with hazelnuts which are ground, add cocoa powder or chocolate and cream. read more
