"Higher Education is not free in India" is not a completely correct statement. Of course certain streams will cost you a lot, say B.Tech/Medical from some private college. If you do it from a Government college, it is subsidized. read more

From indian prospective This idea would simply be too expensive for centre as well as state govt to maintain at longer term. If this is implemented then we have to start paying much higher taxes & that could hurt economy since people will have less to spend or invest. read more
