Why isn't Russia hosting Syrian and iraqi refugees?

By 15 April, MoSP had registered 1,228,090 IDPs in Ukraine. This is an increase of about 15,000 people compared to the previous week. Russia does host Syrian refugees. They don't come to Russia themselves due to harder life here than in, say, Germany. In EU many can come and live off the help. Here you'll have to work. And finding work will be difficult. But some regions do receive some refugees - christians and mulsims did come to some Causases republics. read more

In fact, even if China were to host all 4.7 million Syrian refugees, that would only amount to 3.5 refugees per every 1,000 inhabitants – that’s a far lower proportion than even Turkey, at 23.7 refugees per 1,000 inhabitants, actually hosted in 2015. read more
