We should care because on average around 30 Elephants or 30 innocent living beings get killed every day in their homes. We should care because every living being just like us deserves freedom. We should care because poaching is an act of greed where the money from the trade is used to fund activities like terrorism, conflicts and war. read more

Animal rights and the environment. Elephants, which are poached for ivory, and rhinos, which are poached for horns, are often at the forefront of conservation campaigns. But other animals are poached, too, including tigers for their skins and sharks for their fins. read more

While land use pressures and habitat loss pose serious threats to elephants, it is the illegal killing of elephants for their ivory that could cause them to become extinct within our lifetime. Last year alone, 35,000 African elephants were poached for their tusks, for their ivory. read more
