There is no reason why a cat and dog can’t or shouldn’t share water bowls. My dog has a large water and food bowl, while the cat has her own smaller water and food dish. It shouldn't pose a problem for cats and dogs living together to share the same water bowl(s). As they live together they have in any case a lot of opportunities to share potential diseases in many ways. The important point is that they should be able to chose not to share the same bowl. read more
