Men can focus more than women. This was not necessarily a positive comment. There is the idea that men are more obsessive, workaholic, unduly focusing to the point of exclusion of other criteria, etc. Women see cooking as an extension of their job/role as pleasing the family (and acceptance by traditional culture/society). read more
