Columbia and UChicago are absolute peers and regarded with similar levels of “prestige”. Columbia, historically, has had the more “prestigious” college due to more notable alumni (Barack Obama, Alexander Hamilton, Neil Gorsuch, Allen Ginsberg, etc.). read more
Columbia and University of Chicago are both excellent universities but one might have a more robust Department presence in a specific area of study or a better reputation than the other in a particular curriculum. read more
If I had the choice to attend either UChicago or Princeton, I would choose UChicago every single time (unless Princeton gave me a full-tuition scholarship and UChicago gave me no aid, which I doubt would happen because UC gives excellent aid). read more
Hyde Park is a very high-class neighborhood and one of Chicago's safest, and it's unfortunate that some people choose to deride it as gritty simply because it's majority African-American. read more
