They will surely pick up 4–5 seats just based on the the states that are up. The Democrats are a party of the coasts and big cities right now and the reaction to Trump so far is only hardening that. Middle America isn't sold on Republicans but they definitely know they want nothing to do with “progressive” democrats. read more

Both based on trends and current opinions, the Republicans should be happy for a ‘win’ in 2018. Set aside Trump for the moment, or Congress’s very public failures to get things done even without needing the Democratic minority. read more
