MLB actually had to add a rule to accomodate Pat Venditti, a pitcher must announce which arm he will use prior to the batter stepping into the batters box. This gives the advantage to a switch hitter over a switch pitcher, which is controversial. Many feel since switch pitching is so rare, the pitcher should have the advantage. read more
