Truman’s second term was quite bad. The Soviets had just detonated their first atomic bomb, and the Korean War was seen as an embarrassment. Eisenhower won the 1952 election by 11% of the popular vote and 353 electoral votes. If Truman had run it might have been a little eased but still by a nice margin. read more
