Lastly I think if your blessed enough to be in Death Valley at night, and away from the developed areas, the star gazing is fantastic. The clear desert skies and lack of light pollution along with the solitude can make for a very enjoyable and memorable time. read more
I think that the most logical way to visit Death Valley in July is rent a car, arrive there in late afternoon (something like 5-6 p.m. Still real hot, but a little bit better going on), see something, sleep in the Valley, wake up early to see sunrise, then touring around and going away at 10 a.m. or so. read more
