I've been to one of the restaurants where Buffalo wings were said to be invented in Buffalo, NY, with someone who was born and raised in Buffalo and would know. It is not in any way Italian. It serves hot dogs and burgers and Buffalo wings. It is not an extensive menu. I'm not sure why anyone would think Buffalo wings were Italian in any way.
